Unity or diversity of European law ? Comparing the “Europes”

Presentation of the workshop :

One would rarely speak of “Europes“. Nevertheless, such a pluralistic approach exist in the law. Both the Council of Europe and the European Union contribute to the development of the law in their own way, which raises the complicated question of borders and the European identity.

Those two “Europes” call for a comparison. Are the different conceptions of law in Strasburg, Brussels, or Luxemburg, part an effort toward convergence or is the law in Europe meant to diverge in the long run (as to methods and solutions)?

The series of papers published below constitute tentative answers to these questions.
